You could call it comradeship if you like, but that seems kind of soft to me. I prefer to call it enforced unity via fear, guilt, and mind-control.

The Governing Body is Powerless (Without Comradeship)
by acolytes inthe governing body is powerless (without comradeship) and comradeship is one of the great needs for people.. the price for this companionship is a persons individuality, as individual love is exchanged for communal individuality and communal love.. because of the humun need for comradeship the governing body can teach whatever they like and demand what ever they like from the masses.. iam glad i exchanged comradeship for an individual life and freedom .. acolytes..

NWT changes translation to not pray to Jesus
by sacolton injohn 14:14new international version (1984).
the kingdom interlinear translation uses the westcott-hort text, and that's how it reads in the kit.
the kit's interlinear reads as follows: "if ever anything you should ask me in the name of me this i shall do.

I knew there were changes and mistranslations to fit doctrine but specifics are always welcome. Is there a compilation of all of these (or even just several) somewhere on the web? Most churchy folks focus on John 1:1 and there are numerous websites about that, but Dubs are trained to block that out. This one at John 14:14 can be shown up as a wrong translation FROM THEIR OWN INTERLINEAR BIBLE.

It is no longer necessary to create pdfs and upload them. The WT is doing that for the public now.
Go to:
Click the "Downloads" tab (in between the "Home" and "Lookup" tabs on the upper left just under the webpage title.
Then just about in the middle of the list of links on the left-hand side is a "Magazines" link. Select the issue you want. January through May Kool-Aid editions are up there at present.
No need to thank me. I didn't do anything.

It's sad how we all have so many family members and former friends who only see the bad in this world and live for a dream that will never come true. I was told not to work hard in school or plan for college and career because I'd never grow up in this system. Sometimes the cult makes me so angry and resentful but most of the time it just makes me sad for those who still can't see it for what it is.

'Talks That Inspire' looking back at where my mind was, I wrote about the time at the convention "Godly Obedience".
by Butterflyleia85 inmy assignment was to write about a speach i heard that inspired me.
well being a jehovah's witness that was easy for we all had it three times a week then during our assembles and convention meetings.
written 12/11/2005.

Once you see the mind-control for what it is, it jumps off the page and out of the mouths of everyone at the Kingdom Hall.

Birthdays Okay -- if done by Fractions
by FatFreek 2005 ini have 2 sons who live close to each other.
thankfully, they are emotionally close despite the fact that the oldest never was baptized and therefore not bound by wt standards.. the youngest, the jw, had a birthday on the 1st of the month.
i wished him a happy one -- but, of course, only in my mind knowing that he would dismiss such a wish if he even talked with me on the phone.

I'm not entirely sure of the rationale but it appears to me that a parent recognizing the birthday of a child is quite common in the rank and file. My Dub mom has done it every year for my entire life. I think they must reason that since they're not throwing a party, they're not beheading anyone, and they're not giving glory to themselves on their own birthday (both the beheading birthday parties in the Bible were by rich/powerful dudes throwing the party for HIMSELF, remember), that it is ok to celebrate the birth of their child in the minor way of remembering that day as special.
Of course, if they ran it past an uber-Dub or a GB member, they'd probably get a negative reaction, and if they tried to tell a lot of the others in the congregation that they should do it, they'd get DFd for 'promoting a sect.' But if they keep quiet about it, their conscience doesn't bother them.
How could it, really? There is no real conscience in the borg. There is fear and guilt for breaking rules; that isn't the same thing at all.

Back. and seeking ideas for screwing over the memorial
by Sirona inok. me and friends are going to attend a memorial on 30 march.. what would be the best way to get our message across?.
should we just throw a hundred flyers into the hall in the middle of the memorial?.
should we drink the wine and eat all the bread and then stand up and say something?.

Like everyone else, I wouldn't disrupt. Putting flyers on car windows in the parking lot wouldn't be going too far, though, IMO.

2012 and The Fall of the Watchtower
by Clint Bussey ini know you may call me another russel or something, but i am just showing what i've found.
i am very amazed by what seems to be an uprising inside and outside of the jehovah's witness religion against the governing body and watchtower corporation.. it seems that all the scriptures about babylon and the apostasy apply to them today.
but check these two things out.

The "weeping and gnashing of teeth" Freydo, has to be viewed in a relative way. I don't know of anyone who has left the borg who's teeth-gnashing is greater today than when they were in it.

The Awakening
by AK - Jeff ina time comes in your life when you finally get...when, in the midst of all your fears and insanity, you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out...enough1 enough fighting and crying and blaming and struggling to hold on.
then, like a child quieting down after a tantrum, you blink back your tears and begin to look at the world through new eyes.. .
you realize its time to stop hoping and waiting for something to change, or for happiness, safety and security to magically appear over the next horizon.. .

It was this thread (both the OP and the comments) that finally moved me to spend $15 bucks on an English translation of the Tao. (I had read 'about' it before and glanced at a couple websites but never had it in book form)
I'm amazed by its simplicity and complexity. And in the spirit of not trying, over the last few evenings, just before bed I've opened it up to a random page and read the passage there. I've never slept better.

if you apply the 30 days to the gentile times from 607 BC,...
If you'd have used the pyramid I'd have been right there with you.
The leadership of the borg have gone too far because religious leaders always go too far. It has nothing to do with prophecy.
